Fundraiser planned today for Moscow man injured in campus incident
A fundraising event is scheduled for Saturday in Lewiston to aid Austen Dawson, a Moscow resident injured during a fight on the University of Idaho campus. The altercation, which took place on September 24, resulted in Dawson being hospitalized and placed in an induced coma due to head injuries. He has since been released from the hospital and is in recovery. The fundraiser will include a silent auction from 1-3:30 p. m.
, a taco bar dinner starting at 4 p. m. , and a live auction set for 5 p. m. The Latah County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident, and as of now, no charges have been filed against anyone involved.
This event not only seeks to alleviate Dawson's medical expenses but also emphasizes the community's response to violence in educational settings. Local residents are expected to show their support through participation in the auction and dinner. Fundraisers like this can significantly impact the lives of those affected by violent incidents, offering both financial and emotional support.
