WSU raises tuition for ninth consecutive year
Washington State University’s Board of Regents approved a 3. 3% increase in tuition for the 2026-27 academic year, marking the ninth consecutive year of hikes. Resident undergraduate tuition will increase to $12,063, while non-resident undergraduates will pay $29,734. Graduate tuition for Washington residents will rise to $12,931, and out-of-state graduate students will pay $30,601. The university has consistently opted for maximum allowable tuition increases, with exceptions in academic years 2018-19, 2021-22, and 2023-24.
In addition to tuition increases, the Board approved $12 million for upgrades to Gesa Field at Martin Stadium, to be funded through donations and bonds. The first phase will cost $7 million and includes a new videoboard, sound system, and LED lights, with installation planned for next spring. WSU Athletics has raised $1. 3 million in cash donations and $4. 2 million in pledges over five years but needs $8 million in total pledges by December 15 to proceed on schedule.
Phase 2 of the project will focus on turf replacement and other enhancements, contingent on future donations.
