Veterans events around the region
The University of Idaho will commemorate Veterans Day with a wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a. m. on the northwest lawn of the Administration Building. The ceremony will feature performances from the university's Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC units, along with remarks from UI President Scott Green. Following this, a Military Appreciation Dinner at the ICCU Arena will welcome U.
S. Sen. Jim Risch as the keynote speaker, who will honor Idaho's veterans. Meanwhile, Lewis-Clark State College will hold a veterans celebration event from 5-7 p. m.
on Thursday at the college library, which is open to the public and will feature a keynote speaker and catered hors d'oeuvres. Washington Rep. Michael Baumgartner will also attend a Quilts of Valor presentation on Friday at the Clarkston VFW Veterans Outreach Center, where seating is limited. The annual Lewiston Veterans Parade will occur on Nov. 15, focusing on raising awareness for homeless veterans.
These events highlight the community's commitment to honoring and recognizing the sacrifices of veterans and military-affiliated families in the region.
