The Idaho Regional Championship featured 14 high school marching bands at the University of Idaho's Kibbie Dome, concluding the marching band season. Band directors Brendan Burns and Alex Lardie from Lewiston and Clarkston expressed pride in their students’ dedication, noting the bittersweet nature of the competition. Clarkston's drum majors highlighted the teamwork necessary for success, saying there are no "weak links" in a good band. Freshman Emma Marzolf from Lewiston shared that band is a vital part of her life, wishing she could participate every day. The Vandal Marching Band, with over 270 members, performed a special exhibition show to inspire high school musicians.

Spencer Martin, the band's director, emphasized the importance of passion over perfection in music education. Both band directors hope their students will continue music beyond high school. Competition results were not provided at press time.
