Pullman Regional Hospital launches expansion project

Pullman, WALocal News

Pullman Regional Hospital has officially broken ground on its $41 million Patient Care Expansion Project, set to unfold in three phases over the next three years. This initiative aims to remodel around 30,000 square feet of the hospital to enhance healthcare delivery in the community. CEO Matt Forge emphasized the growing demand for services, noting that the hospital has seen a significant increase in emergency visits and surgeries over the past decade. The expansion will include a fifth operating room, ten additional emergency patient care rooms, and a dedicated mental health space to better meet patient needs. Construction will be carried out in phases to allow the hospital to remain fully operational throughout the process.

The project stems from a $27. 5 million bond approved by voters in 2022 and will also rely on philanthropic efforts to raise an additional $7 million. With over $1 million raised so far, Forge expressed gratitude for community support and a commitment to meeting expectations. The hospital's expansion reflects a proactive approach to evolving healthcare demands in the region.
