Vitalant to host multiple local blood drives in November

Pullman, WALocal News

Vitalant will conduct multiple blood drives in November, encouraging community participation with a chance for two donors to win a $10,000 prepaid gift card. The organization emphasizes the critical need for blood, noting that someone in the U. S. requires it every two seconds. Donations typically decline during winter months as schedules fill with holiday activities.

All blood types are needed, with O-positive being particularly valuable for those with positive blood types. November is also National Prematurity Awareness Month, highlighting the urgent need for blood for premature infants, as nearly 80% may require transfusions. Blood drives are scheduled at various locations, including Moscow, Pullman, Orofino, Cottonwood, Colfax, and Pomeroy. Vitalant operates a donation center in Lewiston, serving as a hub for local blood donations. Community involvement in these drives can significantly impact the lives of those in need.
