Man in last months UI fight recovering, says father

Austen Dawson, injured in a fight on the University of Idaho campus on September 24, is making a recovery after being discharged from the hospital. His father, Adam Dawson, confirmed that Austen is now cognitive and able to move around, though he still cannot drive due to head injuries. The Moscow Police Department has completed its investigation and forwarded the case to prosecutors, who are currently reviewing the details to determine if charges will be filed. The Phi Delta Theta fraternity announced the removal of a member in relation to the incident. Support for the Dawson family has been overwhelming, with messages coming from across the nation and even the United Kingdom.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $10,000 to help cover Austen's medical bills. The family has organized a silent and live auction on November 15, featuring a taco bar dinner, to further assist with medical costs. Adam Dawson expressed gratitude for the community's support during this challenging time.
