Pullman, WALocal News

Jakori Buchanan, a 20-year-old University of Washington student, faces felony charges for allegedly shooting Washington State University football player Uilisone “Sone” Falealo during a party at an Aspen Heights apartment on September 21. Witnesses report that the incident began when Falealo and other players acted as security and attempted to remove Buchanan from the party. Court documents reveal that Buchanan shot Falealo in the abdomen following a physical altercation, striking him multiple times with a handgun before firing. Buchanan was arrested two days later and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. His attorney claims self-defense, despite the lack of a recovered firearm by police.

Falealo has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The Pullman Police Department continues to investigate the incident, reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses. Buchanan is scheduled for arraignment on October 10.
