Forums for Whitman County, Pullman candidates planned next month

The League of Women Voters of Pullman and Whitman County will host three candidate forums before the Nov. 4 general election, promoting civic engagement. Scheduled from 5:30-7 p. m. at Neill Public Library, the forums will also be available on Zoom for broader accessibility.

The first forum on Oct. 9 will feature candidates Cody Finch and Chad Whetzel vying for the Whitman County Commissioner District 3 position. Following that, the forum on Oct. 14 will include Pullman School Board candidates Deena Bayoumi, Hannah Martian, Brandon Kruger, and Stephanie A. Horn.

The final event on Oct. 16 will highlight Pullman City Council candidates, including John-Mark Mahnkey and Bryan MacDonald. Washington residents can register to vote until Oct. 27 via VoteWa. gov or in person at their county election office.

These forums aim to inform voters about their local candidates and encourage participation in the electoral process. Engaging with candidates directly can significantly impact voter turnout and community involvement.
