St. Joes purchases Catalyst Medical Group
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center announced its acquisition of Lewiston-based Catalyst Medical Group, effectively doubling its provider network. CEO Ed Freysinger stated that the merger, financed through a community investment fund, will enhance healthcare delivery in the region. Catalyst Medical Group, with around 150 employees, will maintain its independent operations until early November when the transition is expected to finalize. Freysinger assured that patients will continue to see the same providers during this period.
Dr. Angela Roth, president of Catalyst, expressed optimism about more coordinated care post-merger. The acquisition also includes Lewiston Orthopedics and Valley Medical Center, further broadening St. Joe's service offerings. Freysinger highlighted the importance of integrating services to better meet community health needs.
The merger reflects a shared commitment to advancing healthcare in Lewiston, building on St. Joseph Regional Medical Center's 123-year legacy.
