Christian Forslof, 30, has been charged with second-degree murder following the shooting death of a woman and the injury of a man in Lapwai on Friday evening. Forslof claims the unarmed victims threatened him while trespassing on his property, according to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies discovered the woman dead from gunshot wounds, while the man sustained injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. His fiancée alerted police, stating that her fiancé shot the two after believing they had broken into their shed.

The initial investigation found that Forslof confronted the victims at gunpoint about a quarter-mile from his home. He reportedly fired his weapon after the woman approached him aggressively, pointing her finger. The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding property defense and the use of lethal force in confrontations. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, awaiting further details before releasing the names of the victims.
