Pullman man sentenced for possessing child sexual abuse material

Pullman, WALocal News

Robert Keller, a 38-year-old man from Pullman, has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts related to child sexual abuse material. Judge Roger Sandberg considered Keller's guilty plea and his apology during the sentencing. Following his prison term, Keller will be on probation for three years and must register as a sex offender. The Pullman Police Department arrested Keller after discovering hundreds of illegal materials on his phone, showing he had engaged in trading explicit content online. Initially, Keller faced 20 counts related to child pornography.

The prosecution and defense had requested a sentence at the low end of the standard range, which influenced the judge's decision. Keller's previous conviction for child rape in Idaho, along with his repeated probation violations, significantly impacted the ruling. The case highlights ongoing concerns regarding child exploitation and the legal system's response to such offenses.
