Classic car enthusiasts put their wheels on display at Hot August Nights Show and Shine

The 39th annual Hot August Nights Show and Shine took place in Lewiston on Saturday, with around 350 classic cars on display. Kisha Kalapu, the event organizer, indicated that this gathering attracts thousands of car buffs each year, contributing to the local economy. Kevin McRae, who restored a 1971 Chevrolet K20 pickup, remarked on the challenges of car restoration and the joy of working with family. Bob Kesler showcased his rare 1966 Ford Ranchero, a one-year model, after extensive restoration work. Steve Rice attended from Harrison, Idaho, bringing his 1958 Messerschmitt KR200, a unique vehicle designed for paraplegic soldiers post-war.

The event highlights the thriving car culture in the region, providing a platform for enthusiasts to connect and share their passion. Participants expressed their commitment to driving their classic cars regularly, emphasizing the joy of ownership. With many attendees vowing to return, the event continues to strengthen community ties among classic car enthusiasts.
