UPDATE AT 820 P.M. IDL reports crews have stopped forward progress of fire

Firefighters have contained 50% of the Lamb Fire, which has burned 80 acres near Troy, Idaho. The Idaho Department of Lands announced that they halted the fire's forward progress, allowing the Latah County Sheriff’s Office to lift evacuation orders for local residents. Those returning home should be cautious, as lingering smoke may still be present, and firefighting efforts will continue for several days. Ground operations received support from two helicopters and two air tankers, with assistance from local fire departments and the U. S.

Forest Service. The fire was first reported at approximately 2:15 p. m. on Monday, leading to immediate evacuation orders for residents in the vicinity. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials will monitor the situation overnight for any flare-ups.
