Bovill man pleads guilty to aggravated assault charge

Dane Clark, a 41-year-old man from Bovill, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on Monday in Latah County District Court. His arrest occurred on July 9 after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at a male family member during a domestic dispute. Clark confessed to deputies that he aimed the weapon following an argument at home. He remains incarcerated in Latah County Jail, with a bond set at $50,000. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 14, where a four-year prison term is recommended, along with a rider program for mental health treatment.

This case underscores the serious issue of domestic violence in the region, which has prompted local officials to seek solutions.
