Pullman city administrator finalists available for meet and greet today
Pullman invites residents to meet city administrator finalists today from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at City Hall. The hiring team, including Mayor Francis Benjamin, will review public feedback on candidates Heather Jobe, Mark Schuller, and Sean Wells. Benjamin plans to interview the finalists in August and expects to make an appointment by fall.
The position became vacant in May following Mike Urban's exit, whose departure is disputed between him and the city. Urban was placed on administrative leave amid false allegations related to an investigation against former police chief Jake Opgenorth, who resigned in March. Urban was exonerated from all accusations, and no charges were filed against Opgenorth due to lack of evidence. Interim administrator Jeff Elbracht is currently filling the role while the city seeks a permanent replacement. This transition is significant for Pullman as it seeks stable leadership after recent controversies.
