WSU combines Human Resources Services, Finance and Administration into new department

Pullman, WALocal News

Washington State University has combined its Human Resource Services and Finance and Administration into a new department called Finance and Business Services. Deputy Chief Financial Officer Matt Skinner will serve as vice president, and Jennifer Klein has been promoted to vice president and chief human resources officer. This consolidation aims to address the complexities of the evolving higher education landscape and improve coordination in fiscal planning. Skinner, who began his tenure at WSU in 2003, and Klein, who joined in 2008, bring extensive experience to their new roles. This move is part of a broader administrative restructuring at WSU, which also saw the closure of the Office of Strategy, Planning and Analysis in June.

Earlier changes included the elimination of the Pullman campus’ Office of the Chancellor and the transfer of oversight to President Elizabeth Cantwell. The Office of Research was also reassigned to report directly to Cantwell in May. These changes reflect WSU's efforts to streamline operations and align institutional priorities.
