Moscow man reaches plea agreement for possessing child pornography
Nathanael Jensen, 25, accepted a plea agreement in federal court, pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography. In this arrangement, prosecutors dropped two additional charges of distribution and receipt. Jensen faces a potential maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, according to court documents. The investigation began after the Moscow Police Department received cyber tips indicating Jensen had child sexual abuse material on his Dropbox account. Officers executed a search warrant during a traffic stop in February, where they found child pornography on his phone.
Jensen was subsequently arrested by the Latah Regional SWAT Team and booked into the Latah County Jail. Initially charged at the Latah County 2nd District Court, his case escalated to the federal level when he was indicted by the U. S. Department of Justice. This case highlights ongoing concerns about online child exploitation and the effectiveness of multiagency investigations.
