Tribune, Daily News writers claim awards in Pacific NW News Publishing Contest

Lewiston Tribune reporters Elaine Williams and Kaylee Brewster, along with Moscow-Pullman Daily News columnist Becky Tallent, received honors at the Pacific NW News Publishing Contest announced on July 20, 2025. Brewster won second place in the Best Enterprise Reporting category for her February 2024 story about Milo Warnock's death in prison, co-authored with Teddy Feinberg of the Idaho Press. Williams earned third place for her July 2024 report on a family affected by the Gwen Fire, facing competition from the Seattle Times and the Oregonian. Tallent secured first place in the Best Local Column category for her April 2024 piece discussing the implications of the Greater Idaho proposal. The contest, organized by the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association, showcased the best of journalism from newspapers across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
