Portland, ORLocal News

Gabriel Salazar Guzman, a 19-year-old, was arrested early Thursday morning in Woodburn after police pulled him over for a traffic violation. During the stop at approximately 12:45 a. m. in the 1300 block of Hardcastle Avenue, officers discovered that Guzman had a blood alcohol content of . 19, more than twice the legal limit for adults in Oregon.

In addition to the DUI charge, police located a concealed 9mm handgun in his vehicle, leading to further legal repercussions. Guzman now faces charges for driving under the influence of intoxicants and unlawful possession of a firearm, and he was booked into the Marion County Correction Facility. This incident raises concerns about the prevalence of impaired driving and illegal firearm possession among young adults in the area. Local authorities may intensify efforts to combat such behavior to enhance community safety. The combination of high blood alcohol levels and firearm possession poses significant risks to the public.

Law enforcement continues to advocate for responsible behavior, especially among younger drivers.
