Philadelphia makes it easier to report deed fraud online

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia's Department of Records has launched a new online system that allows residents to report deed and mortgage fraud conveniently. The previous method required mailing forms, which often delayed responses. The new system operates 24/7, enabling residents to file reports from home or work, significantly improving efficiency. This digital initiative particularly aids older residents and those with mobility challenges, ensuring they can protect their homes without facing barriers. It also underscores the city’s commitment to modernizing services to meet the needs of its community.

Filing reports remains free, and the city continues to offer in-person assistance for complex cases. Victims are still encouraged to report fraud to law enforcement and seek legal support. This proactive approach aims to preserve homeownership and safeguard vulnerable populations from fraud.
