City College for Municipal Employment (CCME)

The City of Philadelphia celebrated the graduation of 24 participants from its inaugural City College for Municipal Employment (CCME) program on May 27, 2025. Launched in October 2024, CCME has enrolled over 70 residents, offering free skills-based training to help participants build careers and economic opportunities. Graduates completed various tracks, including Business Administration, Technology, and Skilled Trades, while CCME also provides programs in Healthcare and STEM. Mayor Cherelle L. Parker emphasized the importance of the initiative in creating pathways for economic mobility for families in Philadelphia.

Graduate Aleena Chandy praised the program for equipping her with essential career skills and internships. CCME offers wraparound services, eliminating financial barriers and incentivizing participants throughout their training. The program aims to enhance career readiness and promote existing city employees along their career paths. The city looks forward to expanding CCME further in the coming year, strengthening the workforce in Philadelphia.
