Obtenga 100,000 de descuento en el valor catastral de su vivienda con Homestead

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia's Homestead Exemption allows homeowners to reduce their property tax assessment by $100,000, effective in the fiscal year 2025. This program aims to ease the financial burden on homeowners and help them avoid foreclosure. The exemption, which has increased from $45,000 in 2020, can result in savings of up to $1,399 annually for eligible homeowners. All owner-occupants qualify, regardless of income or age, and applicants need only apply once to maintain their benefits, unless there are changes in ownership. Homeowners can apply easily online, by calling the Homestead Hotline, or via postal mail.

The city encourages residents to spread the word, emphasizing the importance of sharing this valuable information with others. Additionally, those whose names are linked to properties already receiving the exemption must file a change form to qualify for a new residence. The program reflects Philadelphia's commitment to supporting its residents through property tax relief initiatives.
