The Philadelphia Health Department and Feet First Philly awarded ten mini grants to community-led projects as part of Mayor Cherelle L. Parker's vision for a safer, cleaner, and greener city. Each project, receiving funding of up to $2,000, focuses on improving public spaces in neighborhoods with high rates of chronic illnesses and violence. Over 70 proposals were submitted, showcasing valuable ideas from community organizations and individuals. A committee of previous grant recipients and city planners evaluated the submissions, prioritizing those that enhance safety and accessibility.

Notable projects include ACHIEVEability's Day of Impact, which mobilizes volunteers for community revitalization efforts in West Philadelphia. Additional projects include improved lighting at a community center and the installation of planters to beautify local streets. The initiative not only seeks to improve public spaces but also aims to foster community engagement and collaboration. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all Philadelphia residents.
