The Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) released its 2024 Annual Report, marking a year of substantial progress in enhancing police accountability in Philadelphia. Under the leadership of Executive Director Tonya McClary, CPOC focused on building community trust and transparency amid a challenging national landscape for police oversight. Key achievements include launching a Data Analytics and Accountability Insights Division and an Auditing, Policy, and Research Division to improve internal investigations and policy recommendations. The agency reported monthly on police misconduct complaints, fostering public awareness of community concerns. CPOC also engaged with law enforcement to address policies and organized advocacy efforts to push for independent investigations into police misconduct.

The report acknowledges ongoing challenges such as resource limitations and the need for greater independence. As CPOC looks to 2025, it aims to expand its staff and enhance partnerships with community organizations to further its mission. The full report is available on CPOC's website.
