Philadelphia, PALocal News

Paffuto, an Italian-inspired market and cafe in South Philly, is launching a “Legends Series” featuring special panzerottis that celebrate local culinary talents. This exciting initiative kicks off on April 9 and will continue for eight weeks, with new flavors introduced every two weeks. The first panzerotti pays homage to renowned chef Marc Vetri, featuring a braised rabbit and fennel sausage ragu, alongside a vegetarian option reminiscent of his famous gnocchi. Subsequent weeks will honor a diverse lineup of chefs, including Greg Vernick and Cristina Martinez, showcasing their signature flavors. Each panzerotti will be priced around $15, with a portion of sales contributing to charities selected by the chefs.

Co-owner Jake Loeffler notes the importance of recognizing these influential figures in Philadelphia’s culinary landscape. The series not only highlights local talent but also aims to foster community support through charitable contributions. Fans can anticipate further flavor announcements via Paffuto’s Instagram every other Monday, making this an engaging culinary event for locals and food enthusiasts alike.
