Philadelphia, PALocal News

Ember & Ash, a renowned restaurant located in East Passyunk, has revamped its menu and atmosphere to adopt a New American gastropub vibe, spearheaded by owners Scott and Lulu Calhoun. This transformation centers on live-fire cooking, with a menu that emphasizes deep, charred flavors and diverse culinary influences. Notable dishes include charred steak frites, handmade pastas, and a whole beef shin served with lettuce cups and rice noodles. The couple also plans to bring back Sunday brunch, offering a selection of early dishes such as grilled French toast and breakfast sandwiches, reminiscent of Lulu's family recipes. The cocktail program will feature signature drinks like the pickle beet martini, alongside new offerings aimed at enhancing the dining experience.

Scott emphasizes the goal of creating a space for patrons to enjoy bold flavors and a relaxed atmosphere, where they can unwind and savor their meals. With updated hours and a renewed focus on flavor, Ember & Ash is set to solidify its place in Philadelphia’s vibrant restaurant scene. This rebranding reflects a commitment to culinary innovation and community engagement, inviting locals to indulge in a unique dining experience.
