Port Richmond Industrial District Complete Streets Study

Philadelphia, PALocal News

The Philadelphia City Planning Commission, in partnership with a consultant team, conducts a complete streets study in the Port Richmond Industrial District, which stretches from Allegheny Avenue to Frankford Creek. This study addresses the transportation challenges faced by a mixed-use community that includes residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Planners seek resident feedback to ensure that the proposed recommendations align with community needs, especially considering safety and connectivity enhancements for users of all ages and abilities. A community meeting on December 1, 2025, will provide an opportunity for residents to discuss their thoughts on the proposals. Previous engagement efforts included a community meeting, an industry workshop, and stakeholder interviews, which informed the recommendations.

The study aims to create a transportation network that accommodates diverse users while linking to the Delaware River Trail. Final recommendations will be compiled into a report that prioritizes community-driven projects. Engaging residents in this process is crucial for addressing the unique challenges of the Port Richmond Industrial District.
