Announcing the Climate Resilience Partner organizations

Philadelphia, PALocal News

The Office of Sustainability (OOS) has chosen community organizations for the Climate Resilience Partner Program to engage residents in planning for climate resilience in Philadelphia. Over ten months, these partners will collect feedback through in-person engagement events and virtual outreach, supported by a $10,000 grant. The importance of this program arises as Philadelphia confronts growing climate threats, including extreme heat and more frequent flooding. Each organization will nominate an Ambassador to represent their community and participate in training workshops. Ambassadors will work closely with City leadership to relay community concerns and help develop a Climate Resilience Toolkit.

The initiative aims to ensure that resident insights shape future city programs and investments. The selected partners include organizations like the New Kensington Community Development Corporation and Sunrise Movement Philadelphia, among others. This collaborative effort is expected to significantly improve the city’s Climate Resilience Plan.
