El Departamento de Ingresos de Filadelfia advierte sobre una estafa de una pgina falsa

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia's Revenue Department has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website designed to deceive residents into sharing their banking information. The scam, which uses the name "myphillywaterbill. com," closely resembles the official payment portal, MyPhillyWaterBill, but lacks the trusted ". gov" or ". org" domain extensions.

The department reassures customers that online payments remain safe when using verified links like phila. gov/pay or phila. gov/revenue. For online payments, users must input their nine-digit water access code found on their bills. eCheck transactions are free, while credit and debit card payments incur standard processing fees.

Residents are urged to be vigilant against unsolicited requests for personal information. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the FBI or the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The alert highlights the increasing prevalence of online scams targeting unsuspecting consumers.
