Dont fall for fake websites

Philadelphia, PALocal News

A scam targeting Philadelphia water customers involves a fraudulent website that imitates the official MyPhillyWaterBill payment portal. This fake site, "myphillywaterbill. com," appears in search results and aims to trick users into sharing their payment information. The City of Philadelphia warns that its official site does not end with ". org" or ".

gov," urging customers to remain vigilant. The correct URL, www. phila. gov/waterbill, is printed on water bills and should be used for online payments. The Department of Revenue emphasizes it will never ask for sensitive information through text or social media.

Customers should be cautious of unsolicited communications claiming to be from the Department. Monitoring account activity is essential to safeguard against fraud. By using the secure payment processing system at the official site, customers can ensure their personal and financial information remains protected.
