2025 Fall Leaf Recycling Program

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia's 2025 Fall Leaf Recycling Program begins on November 3 and runs through December 20, providing a structured approach to leaf collection. Designed to reduce waste, the program will utilize mechanical equipment to collect leaves in areas with significant tree canopies. Each neighborhood will have a designated collection week, and residents must have their leaves raked to the curb by 7:00 AM. For those unable to prepare leaves for collection, there are options to drop off bagged leaves at six Sanitation Convenience Centers. Bagged leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags to facilitate recycling.

The program's goal is to compost collected leaves, enriching soil and supporting urban greenery. There will be no collection on city-observed holidays, and residents are advised to sweep and bag any remaining leaves for regular trash collection. For further details, residents can visit the city’s website or call 311.
