Mayor Parker and Office of Clean and Green Launches Illegal Dumping Task Force

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced the formation of the One Philly, A United City Illegal Dumping Task Force, launching on November 3, 2025, to combat illegal dumping throughout the city. The task force will implement a multi-faceted strategy, including proactive surveillance and rapid cleanup efforts to deter violators. This initiative utilizes data analysis and resident reporting to pinpoint illegal dumping hotspots effectively. The city has amended legislation to broaden the definition of illegal dumping, allowing for higher penalties and holding offenders responsible for cleanup costs.

“We will not tolerate the defacement of our neighborhoods,” stated Carlton Williams, Director of the Office of Clean and Green Initiatives. The task force aims to shift from reactive measures to proactive prevention of illegal dumping. Surveillance cameras and training for sanitation officers will enhance enforcement efforts. This initiative reflects Mayor Parker's commitment to improving the quality of life for all Philadelphians.
