Partnership and Collaboration in Action How Get Ready Fest Brings Hope, Resources, and Joy to Philadelphia Youth and Families
On October 11, Get Ready Fest®, organized by the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, provided over 800 Philadelphia families with essential health and social resources. The event took place at Simon Gratz High School Mastery Charter, showcasing a collaboration between city agencies, corporations, and nonprofits aimed at combating food insecurity and health disparities. Families received nutritious groceries, health screenings, and educational resources, creating a festive atmosphere filled with community spirit. Founded by Malcolm Jenkins, a two-time Super Bowl champion, the foundation focuses on expanding economic opportunity for underserved youth. This year’s fest marked a significant milestone since its launch in 2014, reflecting the ongoing need for community support amid rising challenges.
The collaborative effort involved nearly 50 local organizations, emphasizing the collective commitment to improving lives in Philadelphia. Jenkins' foundation continues to address systemic inequities, aiming to empower the next generation. Events like Get Ready Fest® illustrate the vital role of community partnerships in fostering resilience and hope.
