LI 2025 Focus Group Results

Philadelphia, PALocal News

The Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I) is responding to community feedback gathered during its annual Focus Group Sessions, driving significant improvements in service delivery. Key areas of focus include streamlining business license renewals and automating the resolution of permit holds, making it easier for residents to access their permits online. L&I is also enhancing its communication strategy by creating training videos and publishing a comprehensive guide on inspection requirements. The department is simplifying EZ permit standards and reassessing rules for minor residential changes to provide clear approval timelines for applicants. Improvements in inspection processes will offer clearer instructions and potentially send accurate inspector arrival times via text notifications.

Furthermore, L&I aims to improve transparency regarding violation statuses by publishing average investigation timelines and enhancing the Violation Resolution webpage. These changes reflect L&I's commitment to addressing community needs and improving service efficiency. The department encourages continued engagement through next year’s Focus Group Sessions.
