Second suspect charged in Grays Ferry mass shooting

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Daquan Brown, 21, faces multiple murder charges connected to a mass shooting in Grays Ferry that left three dead and nine wounded. The shooting occurred during a party on July 7, with over 140 bullets fired from 13 different guns. Brown's arrest on Tuesday came after police searched a house near the shooting site. He joins Terrell Frazier, who was arrested earlier this month and also faces serious charges. The victims, aged between 19 and 24, include Zahir Wylie, Jason Reese, and Azir Harris.

Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore described the incident as “contagious gunfire,” noting the absence of a clear trigger for the violence. Authorities are still searching for Christopher Battle, another suspect connected to the shooting. The Philadelphia Police Department encourages anyone with information to contact their Homicide Unit or tip line.
