Rum takes the spotlight this August at Cuba Libre Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Cuba Libre in Philadelphia celebrates National Rum Day and Month by offering three $17 rum flights throughout August, featuring brands like Don Q, Bacardi, and Brinley Shipwreck. On August 16, the restaurant will discount all rums and rum drinks by 50% from noon to 4 p. m. The original Cuba Libre location, opened in 2000, seeks to immerse guests in Cuban culture through its vibrant atmosphere and culinary offerings. Founding Chef Guillermo Pernot, a two-time James Beard award-winner, recently retired in 2023, having left a legacy of diverse menu items including crab guacamole and paella.

Diners can also indulge in unique mojito options and dessert offerings like chocolate banana bread pudding. Cuba Libre's mission is to provide an “escape” to Havana through food, beverage, and entertainment experiences. The restaurant's décor features bright colors and an indoor dining room designed to mimic an outdoor courtyard in Cuba. Reservations can be made via SevenRooms for those looking to experience this spirited celebration.
