Free medical, dental, and vision care offered in West Philly this weekend

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Remote Area Medical will provide free dental, vision, and medical care in Philadelphia on August 16-17, targeting the city's uninsured population, which numbers nearly 115,000. The clinic will be held at the School of the Future, with services available on a first-come, first-served basis and no insurance or ID required. Patients can receive dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, and general medical exams, along with eye exams and prescriptions. “Millions of people lack access to the healthcare they need,” said Sandra Hall, a Clinic Coordinator at RAM, highlighting the urgent need for such services. The parking lot opens at midnight on August 15, and patients may need to choose between dental or vision services due to time constraints.

Organizers recommend arriving early to secure dental care and note that operations may change based on weather or volunteer availability. This initiative reflects a broader national effort to address healthcare disparities among low-income populations.
