First arrest made in deadly Grays Ferry mass shooting
Police arrested 22-year-old Terrell Frazier this week in connection with the Grays Ferry mass shooting that left three individuals dead and nine others injured on July 7. Investigators believe Frazier was part of a group that unleashed over 140 bullets during a party attended by 100 to 200 people. Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore indicated that Frazier faces several charges, including three counts of homicide, although the specific victims he harmed are still unidentified. Evidence from the scene suggests that 13 different firearms were discharged, with authorities theorizing that the shooting may have begun with celebratory gunfire. A night prior to the incident, police had intervened in a rowdy crowd on the same block, leading to two arrests.
The police are actively investigating and expect to announce more charges soon. Victims of the shooting, aged 15 to 24, have received medical treatment and been released from hospitals. Counseling and support services are available for those affected by the gun violence.
