Mayors Internship Program (MIP) Spotlight Kai Moore

Kai Moore, a recent graduate from Lincoln University, is currently an intern in the Mayor’s Internship Program in Philadelphia. Her work has included creating surveys and newsletters, practicing public speaking, and participating in significant meetings. Moore had the opportunity to shadow leading professionals in the Medical Examiner’s Office, learning about the inner workings of city departments. Now in the Human Resources department, she conducts interviews and produces videos that highlight the impact of various city roles on the community. She has found the experience enriching, stating it taught her how small government decisions can lead to real change.

Moore values the relationships she has built, which will influence her career moving forward. The internship program showcases the city’s commitment to investing in the professional growth of young adults. Her journey illustrates the importance of community involvement and the impact of local governance.
