Police searching for serial Center City sexual assault suspect

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Authorities are investigating a series of sexual assaults in Center City, with at least five victims targeted in recent weeks. The suspect, described as a Black man aged 25 to 30, approached women from behind and groped them, with some incidents escalating further. The most recent assault occurred on Sunday at 12:30 p. m. near Graduate Hospital, while earlier attacks took place on Saturday and last month in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood.

PPD Captain Margo Alleyne-Parker labeled the suspect as "very brazen," stressing the urgency to apprehend him to prevent further incidents. Police have increased patrols in the area and are encouraging women to report any information regarding the suspect. They recommend that victims scream for help, as neighbors have previously assisted those in distress. Detectives believe there may be unreported assaults connected to the same individual due to the similarities in incidents and proximity. Anyone with information can contact the Special Victims Unit or the police tip line.
