Mayors Internship Program (MIP) Spotlight Kai Moore

Kai Moore, a Lincoln University graduate, now serves as an intern in the Mayor’s Internship Program in Philadelphia. Growing up in Uptown Philly, she cherishes her community roots and has a strong commitment to local involvement. Her internship began in the Office of Talent and Employee Success, where she developed surveys and newsletters, enhancing her public speaking skills. Shadowing the lead pathologist at the Medical Examiner’s Office provided her with a unique perspective on city operations. Currently working in Human Resources, she interviews employees and produces videos that showcase various roles within the city.

Moore reflects on how her internship has taught her that minor governmental decisions can lead to meaningful change. As she concludes her internship, she leaves with valuable lessons and connections that will guide her future endeavors. Her experience illustrates the importance of engaging with local government and the opportunities it presents for young adults.
