Mayors Internship Program (MIP) Spotlight Kai Moore

Kai Moore, a recent graduate of Lincoln University, is interning with the City of Philadelphia through the Mayor’s Internship Program. Her experience has involved meaningful contributions across various departments, including Talent and Employee Success and Human Resources. In these roles, she developed surveys, newsletters, and videos that communicated the impact of city employees on the community. Moore has also had the opportunity to shadow professionals, including the lead pathologist at the Medical Examiner’s Office, gaining insight into departmental operations. She praises the dedicated individuals she has met, who prioritize the growth and well-being of the city and its young adults.

This internship has deepened her understanding of government functions and the importance of community involvement. Moore leaves with valuable lessons and lasting connections that will influence her future career. The Mayor’s Internship Program emphasizes the significance of youth engagement in civic matters.
