Philadelphia, PALocal News

Wilder restaurant in Rittenhouse has introduced a unique quarterly book dinner series that merges literary exploration with fine dining. The series features acclaimed authors like Jo Piazza and Liz Moore, who engage with guests in a relaxed setting while enjoying a five-course dinner inspired by their books. Executive Chef Ryan LaFrance describes the culinary process as an opportunity to creatively interpret themes and ingredients from the featured novels. Each ticket, priced at $110, includes dinner, a copy of the book, and contributes to local charities. The series has already successfully tackled titles such as ‘The Sicilian Inheritance’ and ‘Housemates,’ with positive feedback on the interactive format.

LaFrance emphasized the importance of local authors in these events, stating that they aim to keep the collaboration community-focused. The next dinner is set for September, featuring author Leni Zumas, continuing the restaurant's mission to blend local culture with gastronomy. This innovative approach not only enhances the dining experience but also fosters a deeper connection between literature and food.
