The School District of Philadelphia will launch its back-to-school bus tour on July 28, with events scheduled across the city leading up to the start of the school year on August 25. Families are encouraged to attend any of the seven community events, which will feature activities, food trucks, and giveaways of school supplies, including backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, and folders. Adam Northam, the district’s deputy chief of internal communications, highlighted the tour's purpose of delivering essential information directly to families. Each event will run from 10 a. m.

to 2 p. m. , allowing parents to register their children and sign up for the online parent portal. State-mandated vaccines and sports physicals will be available at the School of the Future and select high school stops, with pre-registration recommended. The district aims to alleviate financial burdens on families by providing free supplies funded through partnerships with local organizations.

Last year’s events attracted between 2,500 and 3,000 attendees per stop, showcasing strong community interest. For more information, families can visit the district's website.
