Leveling up Surveyor I graduates ready to build Phillys future

The City College for Municipal Employment hosted a graduation ceremony on July 16 for nine Streets Department employees completing the Surveyor I Upskilling Program. This program is designed to facilitate transitions into higher-paid technical roles within City infrastructure. Executive Director Carol de Fries recognized the graduates for their commitment to service and hard work. Michelle Brisbon, a long-serving City employee, reflected on her own career path, highlighting the role of education in public service careers. Chief Administrative Officer Camille Duchaussee emphasized the essential nature of the graduates' work, calling it foundational for Philadelphia's future.

The program provides a direct pathway for participants to connect with the City’s Office of Human Resources for civil service testing and job placement. This initiative not only benefits the graduates but also aims to strengthen the workforce supporting the City’s infrastructure. Such programs are vital in fostering career development and ensuring skilled personnel are available to meet the needs of the community.
