The Reading Terminal Market's Ice Cream Festival is set for July 12, running from 1 to 5 p. m. This popular event, in collaboration with Bassett’s Ice Cream, will close Filbert Street to accommodate ice cream eating contests, live entertainment, and a variety of desserts from 11 local artisans. Philadelphia favorites such as Franklin Fountain and Mango Hut will join in, offering their unique flavors. Attendees can also savor creative dishes like Bananas Foster French toast with ice cream and gluten-free mini ice cream sandwiches.

The festival will feature a DJ, themed games, and crafts to enhance the experience, including sugar cookie cone decorating and funnel cake frying demonstrations. Entrance to the festival is free, with all treats available for purchase. Dogs are not allowed in the festival area, ensuring a comfortable environment for all guests. This annual celebration emphasizes local culture and community engagement through its diverse offerings.
