Curbside trash and recycling collections are suspended during the work stoppage Heres where you can bring your materials

Philadelphia, PALocal News

The Department of Sanitation will suspend curbside trash and recycling collections starting July 1 due to a work stoppage. Residents can utilize over 60 temporary drop-off sites for trash disposal, which will operate Monday to Saturday from 6 a. m. to 10 p. m.

Each resident is permitted to bring up to eight bags of trash, while loose and bulk items will not be accepted. Recycling materials should be held at home to prioritize trash disposal, addressing health and safety concerns. The drop-off sites will close on July 4, prompting residents to assist neighbors who lack transportation access. Furthermore, several services, including Clean Block Saturdays and citywide cleaning programs, will be suspended until further notice. This disruption highlights the importance of community cooperation in managing waste during the work stoppage.

The Sanitation Department urges residents to limit projects that generate excess trash and consider composting food and yard waste.
