Free STEM camp at Lovett Library aims to spark young inventors imaginations

Philadelphia, PALocal News

Lovett Library will host a free Summer STEM Camp on July 12 and July 19, designed for children ages 7 to 12. The camp, led by local entrepreneur Steve Stotts, aims to provide accessible hands-on STEM learning experiences. Activities include building mini nanobots, engaging in paper bridge engineering challenges, and conducting balloon rocket experiments, all utilizing everyday materials. Stotts emphasizes that not every child can afford camp or STEM programs, and this initiative seeks to remove those barriers. Registration is currently open on Eventbrite, but spaces are limited, urging families to sign up early.

The Lovett Library is located at 6945 Germantown Avenue, making it accessible to local families. Stotts's initiative reflects a growing trend in community-centered educational programs that prioritize inclusivity.
