Community Rallies Behind Pack the Police Car Food Drive at ShopRite

Mayor James R. Barberio and the Parsippany Police Department will hold a community food drive called “Pack the Police Car” on December 13 from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m.

at Parsippany ShopRite. Residents can donate non-perishable food items to support the Parsippany Emergency Food Pantry, which serves hundreds of families facing food insecurity. Mayor Barberio emphasized that even a single bag of groceries can significantly impact a neighbor's life. The initiative aims to fill a police vehicle with food to replenish pantry shelves during the holiday season. This effort comes amid rising food insecurity in Morris County, where many families struggle to meet their basic needs.

Organizers are specifically seeking staple items such as pasta, canned vegetables, and peanut butter. Officers will be present to accept donations and engage with the community. The event highlights Parsippany's commitment to compassion and community support, inviting all residents to contribute.
